Provenance:
APH began recording books on rigid vinyl records in 1936. The company phased out rigid vinyl records in 1987. From desk of APH tape duplication supervisor Lou Tingle. Used for quality control to listen to a metal record master or "stamper" prior to production on a record press. As the stamper was in reverse of the LPs it was designed to produce, it required a unique stylus in order to listen to its contents. Patent# 3,546,399 dates from 1970.
