Dr. Jane Erin, Chair of the Hall of Fame for Leaders and Legends of the Blindness Field Governing Board, presided over the 2012 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.
Jim Hatlen, son of Hall of Fame inductee Phil Hatlen, accepted Phil’s Hall of Fame plaque on his behalf and made moving remarks about his father’s life and impact on the field of blindness.

Childhood friends Kristie Wurzburger and Jim Hatlen pose with the plaques honoring their fathers’ induction into the Hall of Fame. Peter Wurzburger and Phil Hatlen, the 2012 inductees, were office mates and close friends for much of their careers.

Hall of Fame: Leaders and Legends of the Blindness Field is a project of the entire field of blindness. It is curated by the American Printing House for the Blind, a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization.
