Provenance:
The press is used in conjunction with the PEARL (plate embossing apparatus for raised lines) machine which was also designed by APH mechanical designer, Gary Davis. (PEARL embosses metal printing plates with raised-line graphics.) The wooden model is half the size of the working press which is still used at APH. Davis used the wood model to help in designing the actual machine.
