Swivel desk slate with smooth wooden board; top plate of slate is lightweight metal; front of bottom plate is beige plastic; back of bottom plate is lightweight metal; bottom plate has one large blunt pin on front; 2 pegs on back fit holes in the board; 2 lines of 32 cells; board has a metal clamp at top to hold paper; 4 page-number cells on front left of clamp; "86779" and Japanese characters stamped on front of clamp.

Item is part of a slate collection that belonged to David Ronecker (1918-2001). He was blind since birth, attended the Missouri School for the Blind, worked in
Texas as a medical technician for the armed forces, and was an avid collector of slates. He was the uncle of Charles Zinser, who acquired the slate collection after Ronecker's death.
