Large Interlining Braille Frame
Description:
A left-hinged brass interlining slate, rounded on right, with 2 lines of 40 braille cells, fits into a natural-finish wooden board that has two vertical grooves, each containing a row of twelve holes, along sides to accommodate slate pins. Board has a wooden paper clamp at top with chamfered edge. Wood-handle stylus with short metal tip is included.

Provenance:
Donor's letter. The donor referred to the slate as a "microbraille" slate. This item was used by the donor when he was a student at the New York State School for the Blind, Batavia, in the mid-1940s.
