Hinged, full-page slate; made of aluminum and a heavier weight metal; top frame enameled in an industrial gray; 18 lines of 24 cells; brailled line numbers on top plate along front right side; brass pins in bottom; missing 2 of 4 pins. Information in Russian stamped at bottom center on back of slate; includes Leningrad, date of 1972 and VOS [All-Russia Association of the Blind].

Item is part of a slate collection that belonged to David Ronecker (1918-2001). He was blind since birth, attended the Missouri School for the Blind, worked in
Texas as a medical technician for the armed forces, and was an avid collector of slates. He was the uncle of Charles Zinser, who acquired the slate collection after Ronecker's death.
