Mahogany-colored wood desk slate board, glued up from three sections joined with tongue/groove joint; cast aluminum paper clamp; two grooves on sides with vertical rows of seven holes for pins on slate; two diagonally arranged holes in board for slate storage.

APH introduced its own line of slates in 1925. This board would have been typical of the first desk slates. A photo of this model is seen in the 1935-36 APH Annual Report, A photo of this model is seen in the 1935-36 APH Annual Report, which mentions the development of a new "Braille writing frame." The clamp was redesigned by 1956 to almost perfectly reproduce the clamp found on the Perkins Model 13 desk slate from the Howe Press.
