Bright aluminum postcard slate; piano hinge on one side; six (6) lines of nineteen (19) braille cells; slight indents in top frame guide placement of stylus; bottom frame stamped with six indented holes under each opening in the top frame; two horizontal raised lines on top frame; raised lip on open end of upper frame facilitates opening; four registration pins up from lower frame fit into holes in upper frame; stamped into upper frame, "HOWE PRESS/PERKINS/MODEL 2".

Howe Press was making this model in aluminum as early as 1918. Found in office of Jim Hill. Labeled in fashion that suggests APH was researching educational tools, primarily writing tools, from competing manufacturers, ca. 1965.
