Description:
Red vinylite disc with raised numbers in braille and standard print. Two clear plastic pointers are on one side; one plastic pointer is on the other side. Pointers are kept in place by three screws, two on one side and one on the other.
Also included: original "Description and Operating Instructions."

Provenance:
The American Foundation for the Blind introduced this model in 1946. Frank J. Healy, the original owner, was a student of the Oregon School for the Blind, graduated from Willamette University in 1944, and later became Corporations Commissioner for the State of Oregon.
Healy's wife gave the slide rule to Effie Westensee, Healy's former teacher. Iva Menning, retired schoolteacher from the Oregon School for the Blind and
the donor of the item, received the slide rule from Westensee, who asked that the item be donated in memory of Healy.
