Provenance:
Introduced in 1996 in the same catalog as the Handi-cassette II. The Panasonic is basically an off-the-shelf consumer model with modifications for variable speed and the option to listen to 4-track talking books at 15/16 ips. The unit lacked the variable speech and indexing controls found on the Handi-Cassette II, but was the smallest 4-track cassette recorder ever marketed by APH. It also was the only machine sold by APH that included a radio receiver. The unit had been discontinued by 1998.
