In 1984, the American Printing House for the Blind began a project to "review and evaluate existing research on low vision and to identify current research needs for low vision." The project resulted in two documents: "Annotated Bibliography of Research in Low Vision," November 1985, compiled by APH Research Associate Eleanor Pester, project director; and "Identification of Research Needs for Low Vision: Final Report," released in July 1987.

Letters and research suggestions from professionals in the field of low vision participating in the APH Low Vision Research Project. Includes a "Think Piece on Critical Needs for Low Vision Research" submitted by Natalie Barraga.
Includes copies of the bibliography and report resulting from the completed project: "Annotated Bibliography of Research on Low Vision" (November 1985, 181 p.) and "Identification of Research Needs for Low Vision: Final Report" (July 1987, 30 p. ).
There is also a copy of the 5-page "Bibliography of Research on Large Type Reading," compiled at APH in 1971 by Carson Nolan and June Morris.
