Developed at APH as a simple, hand-held system allowing low-vision users to magnify reading material onto a television. This unit was used by Will Evans in the APH Educational Outreach Department as a demonstrator. The Big Picture was introduced in 1994 and discontinued in 1997. Advances in optical character recognition and other features found in similar devices available elsewhere quickly made the Big Picture obsolete.
