Sepia-toned photo is mounted on a pink card. Photo shows an elderly woman who is blind and wearing tinted eyeglasses. Her hair is worn back, and she is wearing a white (lace?) cap. She is seated with her left hand resting on a prop. Her outfit has a dark bodice with full sleeves, cuffs, and lace trim around the collar and down the front. The skirt is a lighter color. "G.T.Y. Dickinson" is printed in margin at bottom left. "Sheffield." is printed in margin at bottom right. On the back is printed "Artist & Photographer. G.T.Y. Dickinson, 327 Glossop Road, Sheffield. Copies May Always Be Had. Portraits enlarged to any size & finished in Oil or Water Color. Picture Frames Made To Order." Above this is handwritten "Blind" in pencil. Foxing on photo; faded. Cartes de visite were popular during the Civil War era.
