The tintype shows a young blind man who is wearing a dark jacket and vest and a white high-collared shirt with a very small, light-colored bow tie. It is mounted in a white sleeve with an oval opening measuring 1 3/4 x 1 1/4 in. A dotted line and a solid line border the opening. The man's cheeks are tinted pink. Sleeve has yellowed; some blistering of emulsion.
