Sepia-toned photo is affixed to a white card with gilt trim. It shows a head-and-shoulders portrait of an elegantly dressed woman who is wearing wire-rim glasses and appears to be blind or visually impaired. Her hair is parted in the middle and pulled back. She is wearing earrings and a neck brooch with chain. Her dress has a high collar with lace trim and a jacket (?) with lapels. The photographer's name and address are gold-stamped in the bottom margin and are printed on the reverse as "C.S. Roshon, 142 N. 8th St., Lebanon, PA.," with the year 1889. "Ellen Gerberich" is handwritten in pencil on the reverse.
