Albumen photo is mounted on a card that is brown on the front and gray on the reverse. Photo shows an elderly bearded blind man at left, with a young boy leaning on his left shoulder, a young girl at center front, and a young woman holding an infant at right. The man wears a dark jacket, the boy's outfit has a broad collar, the girl's dress has lace-capped sleeves, the woman's dress has a high narrow collar and puffed sleves at the shoulders, and the infant is wearing a gown. The card has decorative embossed trim around the opening. On the reverse, at center, is printed "C. A. Malcom, Portrait & Photo Artist, North High Street, Hillsboro, Ohio." At center right is an embossed oval with "Collins Card" embossed in print. "Gra. Go[r?]ter" is handwritten in pencil along right edge and faint handwriting appears at bottom. Foxing on photo in lighter areas: background, man's beard, and clothing of others; slight foxing on reverse of card.
