Label from AER, "Aluminum Cane, AFB". Introduced in the late 1940s, AFB's 1/2" diameter aluminum cane was listed in their 1947 catalog for $1.50 in any length. The glide tip was introduced by the American Foundation for the Blind on its canes in 1948.
