Provenance:
APH introduced its postcard slate in 1928. Originally made of brass or nickel plated brass, postcard slates were available in aluminum as early as 1953. The pins up design, as this model, was the typical configuration. A pins down version was produced between 1972 and 1981. An interpoint postcard slate with four pins up and two pins down had been introduced by 1981. Made by Jim Hill in the APH machine shop, 1976. According to Hill, the pieces were individually marked at that time prior to being sent out for their anodized finish.
