Provenance:
APH Catalog# 100460. Introduced in 1951 to help students construct tactile representations of geometric and other mathematical figures. Push pins inserted at proper coordinates could be linked with rubber bands for lines, or spring wires for arcs and circles. The design has changed little over time. The original board had mitered joints on the corners. Around 1978, the product is pictured with lapped joints on the frame. The original frame was 18x19". This example is slightly smaller at 16x18". Found in Tom Poppe's model shop, in an original shipping carton with the APH catalog number stamped on the exterior. Note original parts list is in the accession file.
