Tuck Tinsley III, returned to his home state of Kentucky in 1989, when he became president of the American Printing House for the Blind (APH), after serving as a teacher, principal and interim-superintendent at the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind in St. Augustine. He talks about his responsibilities as president; the administrative structure of APH; the company's mission; federal quota funding and the Act to Promote the Education of the Blind; and product research and development. He describes some of the initiatives and events that have occurred since he joined APH, including a collaboration with the Toyota Company to improve APH's production process; development of the InSights Art competition; opening of the APH Museum; and establishment of a President's Award to honor outstanding, dedicated APH employees.
