Description:
Sepia-toned photo is mounted on a white card. Photo shows a woman, who is blind in her right eye, seated and facing the photographer. She is wearing a plaid dress with narrow lace collar, front-buttoned bodice, long slightly-puffed sleeves with narrow cuffs, and a hoop skirt. Her hair is parted in the middle and worn back with a hair net. A 2-cent tax stamp is on the reverse. Yellow stains on carte where small sections of photo paper are missing at top and right edges; 3/4 in. section of glue with glitter on reverse, at top left. Cartes de visite were popular during the Civil War era.
