Man has a white mustache and mutton chops and is wearing a striped shirt, vest, and dark jacket. Sepia-toned photo; 5 x 3 1/2 in. (oval) on light gray rectangular card with square edges; embossed trim around the portrait. "Elias West. Father off [sic] J.R. & J.E. West, 1909" is handwritten in black ink across the top back edge. Beneath this, in pencil, is handwritten "Blind from birth."
