Description:
1/6 plate daguerreotype has a brass mat covered with glass and is enclosed in a brass preserver that is embossed with a small design. Gold sealing tape (original?) is visible on the back. Seated man and woman are identified on a separate paper as Cyrus Blood Jones and Matilda McDaniels Jones. He is wearing a dark jacket and a vest with two rows of buttons. He has a short beard, but no mustache. She is wearing a light cap and a dark dress with a light-colored collar and a striped bow. The dress has bishop sleeves with light-colored cuffs. The bodice is pleated above the waist.
