Provenance:
APH made its nickel alloy 4 line, 38 cell correcting slate with pins up from 1937-2004. In 1969, it added a pins down version that lasted until 1981. The pins down feature alloyed the slate to be opened and the braille checked with removing it from the registering pins. A correcting slate with no pins at all became available in 1972 and is still available.
