Rectangle of (1" grid) pegboard, painted yellow with two black pin stripes on short sides; 1.125" diameter plastic compass glued in center; two strips of manilla paper glued to long sides with "COMPASS ATTACK" in large black print and braille; short wood dowel with red ink dot on top, longer wood dowel with black ink dot on top; pair of white plastic tactile dice.

Prototype developed by Paul H. Olson, a teacher at the North Dakota Vision Services/School for the Blind in Grand Forks, ND in 2006. Invented as a game to support orientation and mobility instruction--knowledge of cardinal and secondary compass directions in particular. Proposed to APH Research Dept. as a potential product and developed at APH into "Treks: The Game of Compass Directions," introduced in the catalog in 2011.
